Castellina in Chianti - Siena en Chianti
Gelegen in het hart van de Chianti Classico biedt Casanovina gemakkelijke toegang tot beroemde wijnhuizen, kastelen en historische stadjes. Siena, San Gimignano, Florence en Arezzo zijn allemaal perfect voor dagtochten. Castellina in Chianti ligt op slechts vijf minuten rijden en biedt uitstekende restaurants, kleine winkels en een COOP-supermarkt. Wij raden vooral het heerlijke ijs aan van Gelateria di Castellina. Grotere supermarkten zijn te vinden in Poggibonsi, waar ook een treinstation is met directe treinen naar Florence.
Casanovina bestaat uit een hoofdgebouw van twee verdiepingen en een aangrenzende annex, met veel ruimte en privacy. Binnen is het liefdevol gerestaureerde stenen huis voorzien van houten balkenplafonds en terracotta vloeren, gecombineerd met pastelkleuren, stijlvolle inrichting en een gezellige sfeer.
In de aangrenzende appartementen wonen enkele lokale bewoners, waaronder de eigenaren van Casanovina, die gasten graag helpen met tips en advies.

This was such a beautiful stay! We can only recommend and would definitely come back! First, the host was incredibly nice, we really felt welcome. He put everything in place so that we feel good. And then the villa itself is beautiful. In the middle of olive trees and vineyards, but also not too far away from Castellina - so you can really enjoy the view on nature but also the town. The sunset just on the other side of the road over the vineyards is magnificent. We also had so much fun with everything that is at your disposal - the pool of course, but there's also a little fridge which is very convenient, table tennis, different floating toys that were fun to use. There's also petanque, but we didn't even have time to play. For information, what we didn't understand at the beginning (or maybe just didn't read correctly) is that there are two separate appartments in the villa, each has their own bathrooms and kitchens. It was nice to have some privacy and then meet with everyone at the pool or on the terasse.

- Local coffee shop Porciatti for great coffee, pastries and atmosphere: a compulsory stop for us before going on a trip. - get Gelato at Gelateria di Castellina (a red house at the end of the village) - Squarcialupi: taste and buy some olive oil and wine in their shop and have dinner at the restaurant. - Also had a great dinner on the terasse of Villa Cerna - very charming. We also wanted to try Passo dopo Passo but didn't have any time left... - If you go to Volterra, you have to try Ristorante da Beppino - amazing service and food - We really loved the Val d'Orcia - a bit further from the villa, but worth the visit for the views and Pienza is such a cute town.
